Frequently Asked Questions

How do we know what you’ll ask?
It’s important to us that each interview be personalized to our subjects. We created a link to all the possible questions that we think would be great and if there’s something we didn’t cover we left a space for you to write in your own. We can also finalize these questions in a phone call ahead of our filming.

Can more than one family member be interviewed?

Yes! We can filim more than one family member. The choice is yours if you want to split a 60 minute interview into two, film multiple family members simultaneously or give each family member their own one hour time slot.
Additional fees may apply.

Can we be in the room while our family member is being interviewed?
Yes, of course you may sit in during a family member’s interview, however, we ask that interactions be kept to a minimum to ensure the focus remains on the subject. We aim to capture as natural a storytelling experience as possible and try to minimize distraction.

Where will the interview take place?
The best location to film at is the one that the subject feels most comfortable in. While we attempt to keep our footprint minimal, there is a certain amount of space required to film a subject properly. If a home setting is not possible, we can arrange for a separate facility to be rented at an additional at-cost fee.

How many questions do you get through?
Our goal is to get through 20-30 questions for each hour but it’s not an exact science. Every person is different so we ask that you pick no more than 30 questions and we’ll do our best to get through each one with as much care and attention as possible.

How do we receive the final product? We deliver the final product to you via a downloadable digital Vimeo. DVD’s and thumb drives are also available upon request. Please note that these films are intended for private use and may contain music and archival footage that is unlicensed.

How is pricing determined?
We determine costs based on how many days it takes to edit the project. For each shoot we require at least two filmmakers on the day of the interview. The editing is the most time consuming cost. We work as quickly as possible to get you the final film.
